Local Restaurants

We will provide breakfast and lunch for participants on all three days, appetizers Friday evening, and dinner Saturday.

But if you would like to explore, check out this guide to local restaurants.

Lodging

There is currently a block of 10 rooms at:

Days Inn on University (link to their website)
2407 University Ave SE
Minneapolis, MN 55414

Due to high demand at this time there are only 8 smoking and 2 non-smoking rooms were available (all doubles).

Conference attendees will have until March 10th to make their reservations at the rate of $89/room. After March 10th these rooms will be released and people will have to reserve rooms at the going at market rate.

It is really likely that there will be a wider selection availalbe by the time of the conference which means that if people wanted to reserve a single or a non-smoking double there is a good possibility that they could move conference members to a more perfered room closer to the date of the conference.

Attendees can call 612-623-9303 and say they would like to reserve a room for the "Rethinking the University conference" block.

Room sharing: If you would like us to put you in contact with other conference attendees for the purpose of sharing a hotel room, please contact us and we can help arange this.

Crash with a graduate student: If you would like to stay with a graduate student while in town that is also an option. Please let us know, and we can make arrangements for you.

Other hotels close to the conference location:
Holiday Inn Metrodome
Radison

Both of these hotels probably have discounts if you tell them you are comming for an academic conference. We can help arrange this as needed.

Funding

There will be the option of applicants to apply for funding to help off-set travel expenses. However, we will not know how much money is available until ofter the conference. If funding will be a limiting factor for your attendence at the conference please contact us and we will try to make the necessary arrangements.
